Anja Schiefler art photographer is originally from Germany and educated in English Language and Linguistics as well as in Social Sciences. She worked as a translator for many years and lives and works in Edinburgh.
Anja has always had a passion for photography so in 2006 she decided to make it her profession. In 2010 she finished a four year photography curse at Stevenson College and now works as a freelance and art photographer.
She draws inspiration from exploring the Scottish countryside, photographing sometimes surprising scenes and classic Highland and East Lothian land and seascapes in both colour and black and white images. Her work is presented in classic forms as well as on aluminium ‘panels’ giving an unusual and pin sharp reproduction.
As well as her landscape work, she has developed a portraiture gallery, with an emphasis on children and women.
Her series of images on the theme of women through the twentieth century, referencing iconic images from each decade of the century, and alternative kids’ portraits are presented in book form, which can be seen in the Gallery or on her website (click on the link below).
She is available for portrait commissions. Please contact her through the Gallery or her website.
