Following our introductory event last year, we are delighted to announce another event as part of our unique and exclusive collaboration with It’s Tuscany – the first marketplace that promotes individual handmade Tuscan craftsmanship throughout the world via an Internet portal.

Products and experiences from It’s Tuscany artisans and farmers will be showcased in Art & Craft Collective and a dedicated terminal enables customers to order directly from the makers in Tuscany for home delivery.

We are very excited to be working with Tuscan companies who share the love for their land and heritage through the excellence of their products. Italy, and particularly Tuscany, is renowned for the quality of it’s craftsmanship and it is a delight to introduce these artists to Scotland. Edinburgh has long had a love affair with Tuscany – writers from Robert Louis Stevenson to Muriel Spark have made their homes there and drawn inspiration from their beautiful surroundings.

The event takes place on Sunday 24 February with a Tuscan themed wine and food tasting and opportunity to see a range of It’s Tuscany craft products. The event is free, but please book a place so that we can cater appropriately – we don’t want the wine to run dry!

The It’s Tuscany portal features typical products ranging from food and wine to crafts, from cosmetics to furnishings, from accessories to clothing which represent the epitome of Tuscan tradition.

In addition, you can book a holiday in a farmhouse surrounded by nature, or wine tasting in an old wine cellar, and tailor your Tuscan experience to your passions and interests – from art to fashion, gastronomy to viniculture – or all four.

Tuscany is known for its landscapes, traditions, history and artistic legacy. It is regarded as the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance and has been home to many figures influential in the history of art and science. Having a strong linguistic and cultural identity, it is sometimes considered “a nation within a nation”.

Please come along on Sunday, meet our It’s Tuscany partner and let us introduce you to the delights of Tuscany including wine from Fattoria Fazzuoli, a bio farm specialized in cultivation of vines and olive trees. Located in the community of Terranova Bracciolini, near Arezzo in the hamlet of Montemarciano, on the slopes of Monte Pratomagno, between the cliffs of Valdarno Superiore.

The family Fazzuoli, native of Cortona, has produced wine and olive oil since 1868. At the beginning of 1900 the family chose this place with a special microclimate producing olive oil and wine of the highest quality.

Since 1995 the agricultural production of the farm has been entirely organic, products are certified by ICEA (Institute for ethical and environmental certification, as delegated by the Ministry of agricultural resources) and IFOAM (International Organization organic certification).

In recent years, the rediscovery of a grape, like the Pugnitello and the production of wine without sulfites, have contributed to what Federico Fazzuoli considers the future viticulture.

Also see and touch the gorgeous accessories and leather bags from Antonio del Bravo of Officina del Cuoio. His pieces are small works of art, done with patience and precision that starts with the choice of leather and continues with the cut of the model and hand assembling and sewing.

Love and passion for an ancient craft, creativity and craftsmanship are encapsulated in the bags of Officina del Cuoio, proudly Made in Tuscany.

Traditional Tuscan sweetmeats such as Panforte, Ricciarelli, Cantuccini, Biscotti will also be available to sample.
Can’t wait!!
