Spread the Love: Saturday February 3 – Wednesday February 14
Our charity partner is Birthlink, which was founded in 1911. Birthlink is based in Edinburgh and does vital work helping adults affected by adoption.
Birthlink own and manage the Adoption Contact Register for Scotland which was established in 1984 and is proudly celebrating its 40th Anniversary this year in 2024! To self-refer or find out more, please visit the website for further information: www.birthlink.org.uk
The charity also provides an After Adoption Information Line for anyone with questions about after adoption issues. Service users include adopted adults, birth parents and relatives of adopted people, and adoptive family members. Trained social workers also provide advice to Local Authority workers, voluntary adoption agencies and other professionals.
The Care Connect service helps adults who were formerly ‘in care’ to access their information from records held by care services. Referrals for this service are through Future Pathways.
Members of the Birthlink team will be in the gallery during the week to answer questions and provide information.
Participants in the event include:
Megan Black Art – Megan is a Scottish fantasy artist who loves watercolour! She will be showcasing prints (framed and unframed), cards and if we are lucky, maybe an original piece or two.
Zoobar Crafts – creates everything from coaster sets to Christmas decorations and anything in between, suitable for a wide range of occasions including Birthdays, Weddings and that Special Something for that Special Someone.
