Explore your creativity with polymer clay
Polymer clay is a synthetic modeling clay which hardens when cured in a regular electric oven.
An extremely versatile material familiar to those with children, it is also used by fine artists to make complex art pieces.
This introductory polymer clay workshop is intended for anyone willing to discover or rediscover the sensations of
kneading and shaping whether you are an artist or a total beginner who has always thought you were not creatively talented.
During this three hour workshop you will have a brief introduction to polymer clay but mostly you will spend your
time exploring this fantastic material until the eventual creation of your own pieces be they jewellery, accessory,
trinket dish or ornamental object.
A former English teacher, Amandine started working with polymer clay four years ago and is entirely self-taught in this versatile medium. She will guide you through your creative journey the same way she still explores her own, just a few guidelines and a lot of mind clearing!
All materials are provided but you are welcome to bring along any common object that could inspire you for shaping or texturing the clay (hair pins, old keys, cocktail sticks etc.).
If you already have an idea of what you would like to make, Amandine will be happy to discuss your project with you.
Polymer clay is a non messy craft however avoid wearing your best clothes that day. And if you keep your nails (really) long, just bear in mind you may find it tricky to keep them from indenting the uncured clay, speaking from
experience!
You will go home with one or two pieces of your own creation (depending on the complexity of your design) and the skills to create more at home.
