Description
Mid-century ‘vintage’ is all the rage so why not learn how to design and make your own vintage inspired necklace, bracelet, earrings and cocktail ring? You will have a unique set of jewellery, to gift to a friend or to complement a special occasion outfit, or just to wear every day!
During the workshop you will follow a step-by-step process of designing and making your own pieces, learning about:
– the history of vintage jewellery and vintage jewellery recycling
– the tools you need and how to use them safely
– choosing the right materials for the project in hand
– how to finish your pieces to a professional standard using vintage or new findings
Susie Yansaneh, the workshop leader, who runs ‘Mamas Vintage Pearls’ provides all the tools and materials that you will need to make your jewellery, including a wide selection of new and vintage beads from 1930s Art Deco through to the modern day from Czech glass to French Jet, glass pearls to semi-precious stones. Also included is a vintage design bag to take your bracelet home, or gift to a friend.
The workshop is suitable for beginners and for groups – if you would like to discuss a workshop for a group of up to ten people, maybe for a birthday or hen party, please get in touch!
Refreshments also provided.
“My classes are very relaxed.” says Susie. “You will leave the workshop with your own unique piece to wear or give as a gift and with the confidence to create other pieces at home or at one of our more advanced workshops.”
Please bring along any old or broken costume jewellery that you would like to incorporate but don’t worry if you don’t have any – Susie has more than enough for everyone! Unfortunately we do not have the facilities to repair precious metals or stones, so don’t bring silver, gold or diamonds (even though they are a girl’s best friend!)
