Description
Learn how to create a circular weaving on a circular frame from our Collectivist Susan Smith. Susan formed the group ‘Greenpark Weavers’ and teaches tapestry weaving. We are very lucky to have her in the gallery to teach an ‘off loom’ tapestry workshop.
Frames will be provided, and they will be ready with blanket stitch done around the outside by Susan so you can start adding warp to create your picture/ design immediately!
Frames, warp , bobbins , needles ,and some wool will be provided but it’s good to bring your own selection of wool too, and/or cottons scraps in colours you want to work with as well .
You will be shown how to warp up the circle in the design you want to make , how to weave , to do knots, and to finish off your project.
The workshop takes place on Saturday, March 11 between 10 am and 2 pm. Tea, coffee and home baking as well as materials are included in the cost which is £60 . Places are limited to ten weavers.
There are also plenty of local cafes should you wish something more substantial!
The workshop takes place at Enable, 95 Causewayside, right next door to Art & Craft Collective. On-street parking is available and free of charge on Saturdays.
